Every once in a while I'll have to remind someone to "come back from the edge" of conspiracy theories, but occasionally all the facts just seem to point towards a malicious conspiracy.
Anyone remember back in 2008 that Senator Obama mentioned the need for a "National Civilian Security Force" that was just as well funded and armed as the military? http://www.wnd.com/2008/07/69601/
Guess that explains all the hollowpoint ammunition being bought up by the Social Security administration. http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/17/who-does-the-government-intend-to-shoot
Wonder where the bullet proof checkpoint booths fit in all of this? http://news.thomasnet.com/companystory/Shelters-Direct-Builds-Bullet-Resistant-Booths-for-Homeland-Security-612684
Maybe all the bullets and bullet proof shelters are to be used in conjunction with the new doctrine on Civil Unrest? http://info.publicintelligence.net/USAMPS-CivilDisturbanceOps.pdf
The General Officer who as a Two Star in charge of Alaska forbade troops from carrying firearms in USARAK, the same GO who in charge of I Corps and Joint Base Lewis McChord wrote a policy letter requiring all personnel assigned to JBLM with weapons stored within 100 miles of JBLM to register those weapons on post. be put in charge of NORTHCOM? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northcom I don't know about very many GOs in the Army, but the current NORTHCOM commander is no friend to gun owners.
I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but all these data points are making me feel...itchy and uncomfortable.

And you didn't even hit all of them. It's almost as obvious as if we were painted into a corner, and we are staring at the corner trying to figure out what color the paint is.
Don't forget about this one...

Gotta love it...
Meh.
Alternate plausible explanation for the latter is that with the brazen asslicking politicization of Army GO promotions, any 5-pointed douchebag with a public history of hating guns is on a fast track to 4 stars.
(FWIW, were I some shiny young troop or company grade O when Gen. Assbag issued that order, I'd salute him, give him a mental "F. U. Sir", and not register a damned thing. Some things are worth risking a bust, and that'd make my list. Besides, storage units off-post are dirt cheap.YMMV.)
The rest is annoying, but the plural of anecdotes still isn't called "data". Not speeding up my preps, and not slowing them down. Just keeping my eyes open.

Conspiracy theories is just a demeaning phrase given to obvious facts so as to DE-emphasize the facts that are usually painfully obvious to the not brain dead folks.
You have every reason to feel itchy and uncomfortable.
Winter IS coming.

Don't forget the new fema corps; https://www.dhs.gov/blog/2012/09/14/welcome-fema-corps-inaugural-class
There was also the commander at Fort Riley Kansas that required members to "Register all their privately owned firearms and the firearms of their family members that are stored in their residence or within the state of Kansas, with their unit commander on an FR Form 102 or an FR Form 102A." You can read about it here:
http://www.ksccw.com/showthread.php?t=18987
That's a pretty big net. How he thinks that he had authority over family members anywhere in the state is beyond me.

Bulletproof booths? Tiny. Any gun ports? Seems like a trap. What if there was a fire?
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism.......
Seems like a trap
Like the isolated French guard towers were in Vietnam.
A buddy of mine was stationed at Fort Knox in '82-'83. The base commander sent out an order for all troops to register all private firearms held off base. this is nothing new.

The army is very concerned about the number of suicides. Most of the suicides are committed with privately owned firearms.
And your point is ?

I don't get how the situation has gotten to the point where any of this could even happen.
It doesn't seem like that long ago but at Camp Pendleton I kept a 30.06 in my wall locker. I don't remember anything remarkable about that.
Don't forget about these little schmucks:
Obama's Youth Corps
Anybody else here think that these little shits have participated in/organized at least one flash mob apiece?
Conspiracy theory ?
We dont need no steenkin' conspiracy theory..
We got f'n reality and its comin at us faster than most want to believe.
What will our line be ? How many must we lose ? How much must we surrender ? How long have we been backing up ? Americans have an old tradition of killing communists.. why did we ever stop.
God help us because it looks like we wont help ourselves.

Americans have an old tradition of killing communists
Precisely, which came to mind when I finally decided that Hussein might win.
"And Now, After Sending Our Best Young Men To Die On distant battlefields fighting Communism, we may simply vote a Marxist into our highest office."

So the only thing to ask is .What are YOU gonna do? Follow orders no matter what. Or give up your job and join the rebbs? Can't have it both ways anymore.
Anonymous,
Worry about your own self, I'll worry about me.
I'm grateful for the discourse on life after armed redress. It is truth, something that is beginning to take hold, have seen this idea coming up in a myriad of venues.
TL Davis has a well written piece on it in his insightful style.
Mr. Mosbey has touched on it. The just causes and ends of resistance to tyranny was the greatest reason behind victory of Liberty of our Republics founding.
Now, I'm no mental giant by any means, but you got to fight for, towards, something other than for the sake of fighting, fight in a way and manner that supports the ends. With people who see and understand the big picture.
That is a fight worth getting behind.
That is a fight worth fighting.
Because if your gonna put it all on the line, with the truth that you might not make it to see the fruits of your and others labors and sacrifices, it simply becomes worth everything when you know it is not in vain.
I can tell you this - as a Soldier currently serving in Alaska:
There are TONS of weapons being bought by Soldiers when they come back from deployment, that those privately owned weapons are in their housing units, that (from my own personal estimate) 90% of them are not registered with the M.P.s, that the M.P.s know this and mostly don't ask, and that lots of Soldiers are aquiring weapons for PERSONAL use in case SHTF.
Large groups of idiots led by cunning liars in the same wrong direction can often take on the appearance of a conspiracy.
It's also explainable by the fact that when a person, family, or nation rejects the Word, there's no place to go but oblivion.
