Of course the other part of "violent rhetoric" brought up by Eugene Robinson was Rep. Alan West calling out the Congressional Progressive Caucus as communists. This isn't exactly news to anyone who has been paying attention to the subversion of the Democratic Party into socialism and communism, hell the CPC was founded by the only openly Socialist politician at the time and is still allied by the Communist and Socialist Parties of America.
Seriously, on one hand you have a junior Representative telling the truth and an aging Rockstar full of awesome invoking no violent rhetoric in terms of guns and knives, but you have a liberal President saying to bring guns to knife fights and that we need to punish our enemies?
How about the violent rhetoric of Mansfield Frazier saying that to keep the blacks from rioting George Zimmerman should just take one for the team?
So in the spirit of "corrosive right wing rhetoric" I'm going to tackle the issue of left wing violence and violent rhetoric head on.
You know what is disturbing to me? The violence of SEIU Purple People Beaters, the rising wave of Black on White Crime that Black "Civil Leaders" use as a club to enforce mob rule and skirt the rule of law.
Although in the back of my mind I hope that Mr. Robinson gets his way and can silence the forces of truth. Because the sooner that happens the sooner this nation will fall. As Frazier tries to bully us into submission the sooner the "cold racial war" where whites don't fight back will turn into a hot racial war where people die by the thousands. The sooner that this festering boil gets lanced the easier it will be in the long run.
I don't worry about a race war in the US. I'm pretty sure that white people would turn out on top, and since I happen to belong to that group the calls for a race war from militant blacks seems like the yapping dogs walked by old ladies. Why is this? Numbers and experience.
Blacks avoid service in the Infantry, white boys turn down bonuses for highly technical jobs to serve in the Infantry. There is not enough credible leadership in the black community to create any sort of credible threat to overcome their vast shortage of bodies. And even if there were a highly skilled general willing to lead the great black revolt, there wouldn't be enough disciplined blacks to follow orders.
If the Black community would stop listening to the race hustlers like Sharpton and Jackson, and listen to men who have truly excelled like West and Powell, this country would be a much better place. Hell, if Powell was leading the great black revolt I'd say their odds of survival would increase dramatically.
I don't want a race war, I've seen the cost of war and it is not one that I would ever wish on my native land. But damnitall to hell it seems like the left is pushing for civil war faster than cooler heads can calm things down.

I had a GT score of 130 and an ASVAB score of 95 like Toaster did...and I chose to be a "gun bunny" because it was the only combat arms MOS in the nearby reserve unit while I was in college, that and I had an uncle who was a Redleg in WWI (the demilled 75 shell that he brought home still sits on my mantle to this day.)
Having lost an uncle in Italy who spent almost 12 months in the lines, another one in New Guinea, another who fought at Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Saipan where he won the Navy Cross and another who landed just in time for the breakout from St. Lo and ultimately stepped on a mine in the Huertgen Forest there is no way in hell that I could have ever done anything other than combat arms. And I know scores more just like me with exactly the same types of stories.
I kow what it means to be dirty, hungry, tired, cold, miserable, scared and still "Charlie Mike"...Your point is very well taken. I have been concilitory towards them forever because I understand what the other approach brings however my patience is wearing very thin. They best not push us too damn much harder because they WILL get far more than they ever dreamed of!
I too scored very well on my tests, and went Infantry, and while there in the 60's,70's and 80's I served with alot of blacks. Always the attitude, always a problem, and always scarce. While in, I had blacks try to convince me that half the guys serving in the bush in VN were black. Or that half the US was black. Or grandma was an Indian, "princess". Or the reason they got caught with someones stereo in their hands when the lights snapped on was that they thought they were in their own room. Or that they were just "holding" someones cocaine, heroin, or hashish. Or the reason they didn't get promoted wasn't the multiple AR-15s in their file, but racism. Over two decades, I met four professional good-as-gold black soldiers, and the rest were garbage.

Redleg. I too had a GT score of 130 coincidentally, but what is ASVAB? Doesn't ring a bell here.
ASVAB = Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batter, which is the same as the AFQT = Armed Forces Qualification Test.
Over the years the acronym has changed, some of the questions have been updated to reflect changes in technology, but the basic entrance exam still determines what jobs you are eligible to do once you sign the dotted line.

In my 16 years on the guns there were only ever a handful of blacks that served in my sections. I can honestly say that I was color blind growing up on the Central Coast of California. One of my very best friends in high school was black but military service opened my eyes to my abnormal childhood reality pretty quickly. I found blacks to be some of the most racist and discriminatory people out there while serving in the military.
One black soldier in my section was your best friend when training, working on the guns in the motorpool, or when out in the field for 60 days but when you ran into him at the club back in garrison when he was with all of his "brothas" he acted as if he didn't know you. You were lucky if you got any sort of acknowledgement from him...can't be seen associating with whitey. I'm good enough to share a foxhole with on deployment but not good enough to have a beer with.
Unfortunately for me (or fortunately depending on the situation) I had a college degree when I went active duty as an enlisted man and I volunteered for every course that was ever offered to me, usually graduating at the top of my class. In one unit I had a black platoon sergeant who just couldn't stand how motivated I was (among other things)...let's just say that he made my life as miserable as could be for multiple reasons, most of which had to due with the color of my skin not being the same as his. I never addressed it but it just made me try to be that much more high speed which pissed him off even more. I always maximized the minimum and ensured that troops like me carried his water. He was a pathetic platoon sergeant, worst I ever served with. I could go on and on about particular incidents but you get the picture.
Anyway, I learned that many of the "brothas" weren't trustworthy and didn't have my back. I've been out for 9 years now so I can't speak to the current situation but my 16 years weren't the most positive as far as race realtions go. They took someone who was utterly and completely colorblind and who dated all races growing up (to my grandparents horror) and shook my racial outlook completely.
Correction on my platoon sergeant, I meant to say that HE always maximized the minimum. On paper though the guy looked like he walked on water. I've never seen anyone update their 201 file so many times.
Last story. We had a guy from Africa in the unit as an artillery mechanic. He was awesome!!! One day in the motorpool he had enough of the blacks always complaining about whitey, the system, the man, America, etc. and talking about how great Africa was. I had never seen anyone come so unglued like that. He told them all that they weren't real blacks or Africans and that they wouldn't last a day in Africa. He said that he despised them all since they had no idea what they were talking about and didn't know how good that they had it over here. He threw down his tools and took off and you could have heard a pin drop in the motorpool after that. They all tended to avoid him after that. It was classic! I sure wish I could have filmed that.
I work with a real African, he doesn't look at racism anywhere near how Americans do. He GETS it and is thankful, works hard and is a great guy. He is shunned by African Americans who say he works to hard and should move to a darker neighborhood.
Real Africans are more disciplined and better (self-)educated than "chucker-Americans" because they have not had everything handed to them.
If you want to foster & foment greedy, selfish, arrogant attitudes in ANYONE, bring them up "on a pedestal": Teach them by example from the crib they are "entitled" and can get anything by whining long and loud enough.
Works equally well for women & squatting Russian bankstaz.
