Because no matter how many spin Doctors they get the Republicans will not be able to shake their reputation as the "Party of the Rich" no matter that the Democrats are the party of the "Limousine Liberals."
But the Tea Party has no "party of the rich" stigma attached. The Log Cabin Republicans have no stigma as "the party of the rich."
The more fractured the Conservative end of the spectrum becomes the better off it will be IF they can really agree on Big Tent Politics. I guess as long as the fractured Right can agree on fiscal issues they would be better off than the liberals...
Cause the Democrats are all about the "Big Tent Politics" but couldn't even agree on a bloated budget when they had complete control of the Legislature and Presidency.

"Big Tent Politics" is all the hell the GOP is about anymore: Even with a majority in Congress for 16 years, they couldn't bring themselves to break the debt addiction, abolish the welfare state, end the hegemonial "superpower" ego trip & get America back to the Constitution. Are they ever going to quit grabbing their ankles and assuming the position of the minority, or has compromise and spinelessness turned them permanently into "Democrats-lite"?
Whenever any party is in power they are big spenders. The Dems under Clinton (for two years) and the Dems under Obama (for two years).
The Republicans managed to maintain power for six years before the public got fed up with their spending.
By fragmenting the Republican party it would require a more parliamentary system of voting, where the conservative block would have to wage internal checks and balances.
The more politicians fight the more citizens win.
