Bayou Renaissance Man informed me of this little liberal gem: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/3/23/19319/1732/255/482838
Sure I signed up because it was a way to pay for college without getting loans or sponging off my parents who already had one son in college. I do not regret my decision, I found out I liked the Army life so much that I decided to make it a career.
There aren't a lot of corporations out there that will give a young high school graduate with no marketable skills a job, pay him while he trains to do that job, 100% health care coverage from day one, free tuition assistance, and 30 days of paid vacation every year from year one.
Sure we sign up for the benefits, but we stay because of job satisfaction.
